Solar power is a clean alternative for developed nations and an efficient energy source for developing nations who do not have the infrastructure to support grid power. Madico’s laminate backsheets increase the efficiency of solar modules and are created with a new technology that eliminates the need for the most expensive component of previous backsheets, therefore reducing the cost.
Madico PVF (poly vinyl-fluoride) composite laminates for solar modules are the most innovative and durable backsheets in the industry. For more than 15 years, our photovoltaic backsheets have delivered superior performance in the harshest environments. Our product line offers a variety of colors, such as black, blue, green, charcoal, and white, in roll widths up to 72 inches. Custom colors and constructions are also available to meet the aesthetic requirements of any project.
With Dielectric Bond Technology (DBT) included on much of this product line, Madico has once again pushed the boundaries of this industry. DBT is a more cost effective and higher performing backsheet construction that eliminates the need for an interior layer of PVF. Compared to the Standard PVF/polyester/PVF design, this state of the art technology dramatically increases the laminate’s bond strength, power output, and insulation against electrical discharge.

The components of these laminates are permanently bonded together with a customized cross-linked polyester adhesive. Each component in a multilayer laminate imparts its own benefit. The PVF offers outstanding weatherability, while the PET (polyester) has excellent physical and dielectric strength. The laminate that incorporates EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) provides a true molecular bond between the back sheet and the encapsulant, creating greater bond strength after vacuum lamination.

These bonds have undergone extensive accelerated weather testing and have been in service for over 15 years.
